Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta has a small resort located on the Puerto Vallarta Marina. (Not to be confused with the large Vidanta resort located at nearby Nuevo Vallarta). A local bus passes in front of the building every 20 minutes or so, and it's a short, 20-minute ride to downtown. The closeness to city central is the primary advantage to this resort.
There is only a Mayan Palace at this resort, although the main building close to the road is larger with a usable balcony (big enough for a couple of chairs).
There is a full-size restaurant, which offers a breakfast buffet as well as other meals, plus a pool-size snack bar. The exercise gym and spa are small, but nice, and available free to our clients.
There are also a number of shops, Oxxos (convenience stores), massage parlours, and restaurants within a short walking distance at the Marina. A super Wal-Mart is a short trip by bus or taxi.
We have met a few people who prefer this resort to the larger one in Nuevo Vallarta. It is small and quiet, has a good view of the night scene of downtown Puerto Vallarta, and it is a short trip to downtown. They have both an adults-only pool, as well as a second pool open to all.
